Vietnam and Cambodia Pledge to Enhance Economic and Business Partnerships

In a demonstration of the enduring ties between Vietnam and Cambodia, Vietnamese General Secretary and State President Tô Lâm welcomed Cambodian National Assembly President Samdech Khuon Sudary to Hanoi. The meeting underscored the robust friendship and comprehensive partnership shared by the two neighboring nations.

Throughout their discussions, both leaders emphasized the importance of enhancing cooperation across a range of sectors. They pledged to bolster collaboration through various channels, including party, parliamentary, and governmental avenues. Furthermore, they discussed expanding efforts in defense, security, trade, and fostering people-to-people exchanges, which are crucial elements of their bilateral relations.

A key focus of the meeting was the implementation of existing bilateral agreements. Both sides agreed on the necessity of enhancing coordination between Vietnam, Cambodia, and Laos. This trilateral cooperation aims to strengthen ties and promote mutual benefits for the three countries, highlighting their shared goals and interests in the region.

In addition to bilateral relations, the leaders reaffirmed their commitment to working closely within the framework of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and other regional platforms. They stressed the importance of promoting peace, stability, and sustainable development throughout the region. The leaders also reiterated their support for ASEAN’s central role in addressing regional affairs, ensuring that the organization continues to be a pivotal force in fostering cooperation and development in Southeast Asia.
