In the first half of 2026, Jakarta emerged as Indonesia’s leading destination for investment, drawing a total of Rp 173.6 trillion ($9.7 billion). This impressive figure encompasses Rp 106.5 trillion from domestic investors and Rp 67.1 trillion from foreign direct investment (FDI), underscoring the capital’s robust appeal to investors.
The second quarter alone saw Jakarta attracting Rp 94.9 trillion ($5.3 billion) in investments, which represented 18.5% of the total investment realized across the country during that period. The capital city also led the nation in domestic investment, with contributions amounting to Rp 58.6 trillion. In terms of foreign direct investment, Jakarta secured Rp 36.3 trillion, positioning it as the second most favored FDI destination in Indonesia.
Officials attributed Jakarta’s strong investment performance to significant strides in enhancing the ease of doing business, improving public services, and maintaining a favorable climate for investors. These factors have collectively contributed to bolstering investor confidence in the capital’s economic prospects.
Meanwhile, West Java secured the second position in national rankings, attracting a substantial Rp 138.1 trillion in investments over the same timeframe. This highlights the region’s growing prominence as a key investment hub in Indonesia.
