Cambodia and Cuba have taken a significant step towards enhancing their tourism sectors by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in Siem Reap province. This agreement was formalized by Cambodian Tourism Minister Huot Hak and Cuba’s Ambassador to Cambodia, Milena Caridad Zaldívar Piedra. The MoU aims to establish a collaborative framework between the tourism authorities of both nations.
The agreement is designed to promote tourism development and facilitate the exchange of knowledge and experience between Cambodia and Cuba. It also seeks to broaden Cambodia’s tourism appeal to Latin American markets, fostering new opportunities for cooperation on the basis of equality and mutual benefit.
This MoU represents a continuation of the longstanding diplomatic relationship between Cambodia and Cuba, which was established in 1960. Over the years, both countries have maintained strong bilateral ties, and this new initiative in the tourism sector is expected to further strengthen their partnership.
By focusing on shared benefits and knowledge exchange, the MoU aims to create a mutually advantageous environment for the growth and diversification of tourism in both countries. As Cambodia looks to expand its reach into new international markets, this collaboration with Cuba could serve as a strategic step in that direction.
