Oscars 2026: Brooks and Pullman Reveal Nominations; “Homebound” Completely Excluded

Date:

The 98th Academy Awards nominations were revealed this evening by Danielle Brooks and Lewis Pullman, showcasing the year’s finest cinema while delivering disappointments. “Sinners” and “One Battle After Another” dominated the nominations, while “Homebound” received zero recognition.

Paul Thomas Anderson’s “One Battle After Another” demonstrated exceptional breadth in its nominations, earning recognition across directing, adapted screenplay, and multiple performances. The film’s Golden Globes success translated into comprehensive Academy support. Technical achievements in cinematography and sound design also secured nominations.

Ryan Coogler’s “Sinners” proved equally formidable with nominations highlighting its visual brilliance and powerful storytelling. The film’s achievements in direction, cinematography, production design, and acting earned acknowledgment from Academy voters. The comprehensive recognition positions it as a serious Oscar contender.

Beyond these frontrunners, other films earned their moment in the spotlight. “Marty Supreme,” starring Timothée Chalamet, secured multiple nominations, while “Hamnet,” “Sentimental Value,” and “Frankenstein” also found success. The diversity of recognized work showcases contemporary cinema’s breadth.

The 98th Academy Awards take place on March 15 at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles. The ceremony will air at 7 p.m. ET on ABC, where the year’s most outstanding films and artists will compete for cinema’s highest honors.
